Spring Break begins today and we have nothing planned. We wanted to go to Disneyland, but decided we better save the money for some big purchases that need to be made in the next few months. My kids are vegging out in front of the boob tube right as I type and I am thinking "it is bad to let them stay in their jammies and continue their TV marathon throughout the entire day?". YES! I am trying to promote good habits in my children and becoming a couch potato who is unable to use their imaginations is not one of those habits (I have to keep telling myself this). What is everyone else doing for their kids during spring break? PLEASE share! I found a fun blog yesterday while feeding my obsessions of blog stalking, she had some good ideas for entertainment during the break
Tip Junkie. I love finding new blogs to frequent, my google reader list is getting very long.
I do have to say though, I don't sit at the computer all day everyday. Yesterday I took a break and we went to the zoo. It was a perfect day, the sun was shining and the temperature was perfect, even the animals were lively. The baby orangutan (It took me forever to figure out the spelling of that word) was so cute as she was trying to get her mom to wake up and play with her, we could have watched her forever. It reminded me a little of my children trying to get me to play with them. Even the camels, you know the camels that often get forgotten because all they do is stand there and do nothing except chew on their cud, were running around and fighting with each other, it was very exciting to watch the camels bite each other (we are easily entertained). A post would not be a post without any pictures so here they are:
That's all folks!

Looked like a fun day at the zoo. Those giraffe pictures reminded me of the day we went to the zoo and the daddy giraffe drank from the pee stream of the baby giraffe. Now THAT"S entertainment! My kids still bring that up every time we see a giraffe. Oh, memories! And I definitely think a TV marathon is okay every once and a while. I wish i could have one myself! Enjoy the break... the dollar movie is always a great and cheap idea too.
What you need to do is come down and spend the day with me! I'm sure we could think of some fun things to do!
Looks like fun! I love the zoo-- especially the Boo at the Zoo, even though it has become way too crowded on that day.
Maybe go to the Aquarium? I have never been and have been thinking about going. We live near an Arctic Circle and a lot of parks (that is the great part of living out here--- as many parks as there are churches), so either one of those is a great option just to get out of the house.
Hi Carrie,
I couldn't believe it when I read your comment on my blog. It was a pretty good sleuthing job, finding it and all. Looks like life is good for you. I am glad. Are you still in Utah? We might be coming back to live in Utah in the next few months... we'll see. It's either that or Washington DC or some remote corner of the world. Not really sure which direction my life is going to take now, but we have at least 2 months to figure it out. As for spring break, don't do what we did. We spent part of it in the hospital with our one-year old with a respiratory infection, and now we are all under the weather. It was his birthday today, too, and we just sort of made a cake and sang a song and all went back to sleep. At least he won't remember how anticlimactic it was.
Anyhow, good to hear from you, and take care!
Yay for the zoo! Great pictures as always. I love Peanut's striped tights!
Thanks for looking us up. I still haven't figured out how to do that. Your photography is great. I took a class in HS and at LDSBC but I need to take a digital class. I don't know how to use my camera so maybe you can teach me about my camera. Call me sometime and we can get together.
