Chic Outing

My good friends and I took a night off from our families and enjoyed some fabulous food and some great girl talk. It was so refreshing to be with all of them, and enjoy each others company. I haven't seen them in a while and it was fun catching up on all of their lives and families. I Love girls nights and I love Cafe Trio!I love how Rachel (the one leaning on her hand) looks in this picture she is very photogenic, Sorry Emily I didn't mean to cut of your face, I had a bad lens on for this shot.

cooking

This book is one of my favorites, the banana pancakes are so delicious.

Are you like me and always looking for good recipes? Blogs are my favorite resource, they are kinda like the ward cookbook(which are my favorite cookbooks), no one (at least I hope) is going to post a recipe if it isn't scrumptious. I have found so many yummy eats from friends in the blog-o-sphere, my family has really benefited from my addiction. I found this site this morning and it made me really happy, there are a lot of recipes that I am itching to make. Take a look and let me know what you think or if you want to make me really HAPPY share one of your favorite recipes on your blog and then know that you made my day :)

"Don't you dare take my crown"

Peanuthead got the game "pretty, pretty, princess" for her birthday, it is an absolute girl game. All the contestants play to earn earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings. Once you have all the jewelry in your color and the crown-you win! It is kinda fun and so easy which I like because the kids can play without my help. On Sunday afternoon we have an hour of Pretty, Pretty, Princess we even talked Cache into playing with us,
but he didn't want me documenting it. Fin had a good time too!

A weekend getaway

This weekend Cache and I got a babysitter (thanks Mom & Dad!) and spent a night downtown in a hotel that has the most soft and cozy beds in the valley. It was a much needed getaway. Don't get me wrong my children are everything to me, but being with them 14 days straight and my husband on the the other side of the earth unable to lend a helping hand, left me frazzled and tired. I just wanted a nights rest without the demands of Motherhood. The responsibility of dinner didn't fall on my shoulders, waking with a boy that has frequent nightmares wasn't my job, baths weren't on my list, breakfast didn't enter my mind (well, at least not until I got hungry). It was fantastic, I am refreshed and ready (maybe excited!?) to fulfill my duties as a wife and mother. I think every woman needs a little time off every now and then.
Thanks Cache for the weekend!
One of my favorite pic's from the night. I love this man. His laugh is contagious.
Our friends,Tyler and Marjorie, recommended eating at Cannella's for dinner and it was delicious. Isn't this meal so pretty? I had to take a picture,
mmmm my mouth is watering, is yours?

Storm

My husbands 45 minute commute turned into a 5 hour drive tonight. 4 1/2 hours ahhhh, I am grateful the water this snow is providing, but does it have to come with such fierceness?

India

Some of you have asked why Cache was in India. Basically he works with a programming company over there, and they flew him over to meet his team that works for him at Zinch. I wish he was writing this post because I heard the stories second hand and I hope I do them justice. Maybe you remember Surya coming to stay with us last summer, maybe not, but Cache was able to attend his wedding while in India. He said it was very different and lasts 3 or so hours. He said that it involved fire and a bare chested "priest" (I don't know what they are called in the Hindu religion).

Surya and his new bride.
The custom in India is for the parents of the bride to find a groom for their daughter, but in Surya's case they met and fell in love before an arranged marriage took place.
While visiting Surya's "native" village where the marriage was performed (a 10 hour train ride away from Chennai) Cache and a few of the Zinch team were able to do some sight seeing and they saw these waterfalls and had a great time getting wet underneath them. Well, everyone that is except Cache, I would have been VERY mad if he would've gotten my camera wet.
This is one of my favorite pic's from the trip. I love the composition. I should probablly lighten it up a bit though. If you click on it you will see an enlarged version and I love the ankle bracelets.
I guess this is the local bathing pond. This is a different set of falls than the above pic's. Everyone was planning to get in these ones too, but decided differently when they saw the locals bathing. Notice the undressed little boy on the left (you might have to enlarge) getting his bath from his mom.

Here is the bathroom in the hotel he stayed in for the wedding. notice the bucket and faucet with the hose.........that was his shower. And the Indian people don't use toilet paper very much, there is just usually a hose to squirt your self off with. Cache took his own toilet paper.

Another place they visited was at the most southern tip of India where the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, and the Arabian sea collide. he said that he could actually see them coming together, I think their waves flow in different directions so he was able to see them colliding. This picture is of him on the beach racing horses.

Cache didn't know who these boys were, but kept asking him to take their picture and then after he took it they would want to see it on the camera. I thought that was cute.
I don't know where in India this was, but I thought it was pretty.
looking out the window from the reception hall where Surya was married.

Look at these monkeys they are out in the public. shouldn't they be in a zoo? I thought that was awesome, I want to see monkeys when they aren't caged up.

I am grateful for the people in India who were so friendly to Cache and made his stay so enjoyable. From the sounds of it they sound like amazing people. Which reminds me VT the CEO of sybrant sent this home for me:

Okay people these are REAL pearls, the only other piece of jewelry that I have that is this nice is my wedding ring. I love them and can't wait to wear them. Viji who is an employee for Zinch sent these to me:
I love the sound that these bangles make when they clink together.

If you are interested you can see all of the India pic's at this site.

A movie by our Youth

This is hilarious, we had an movie night in our stake in which we had to present a BofM story, and the production had to include a vacuum, which explains the "vacuum brigade". It is 6 minutes long and look for peanuthead, since she had to come to Young Womens with me on the night of filming they gave her a part.

Peanuthead's birthday, India

No, Peanuthead did not have her birthday in India, but this post is a pre-cursor to a post that is soon to come documenting Peanuthead's birthday, which was yesterday, and Cache's trip to India. Here are a few pictures to get you salivating:

one year ago.......

I have been going through some old photo's and I came across these. It was this time last year Cache and I were enjoying the warmth and getting massages on the beach. ahhhh I am longing for that again, maybe someday. Actually, I guess Cache is getting this again. He called today and told me he drove through the Jungles of India and saw monkeys and then drove to the most southern tip of the country and saw where three oceans collide, he said it was very impressive, and he made sure to tell me that the weather is 80-90 degrees. oh well. I am glad he is having a good time.
