Roughing It........Kinda

Two weeks ago we spent the night at Heber Valley Girls Camp with some friends. Have you ever been there? It is such a fun place with great cabins that sleep 16, covered eating areas with fridges and campstoves, wonderful bathrooms with showers, and firepits. It is such an amazing place and perfect for those that like camping but are a little bit scared of the dark and what lurks around in the woods. The cabin doors have locks, which in our cabin, remained locked during sleepy time.

We had so much fun being with our friends and making new ones.

The trip consisted of........
One late night of Bananagrams (have you played it? it's a little addicting)
One show of singing in the rain performed by several little cuties.
One little boy with a bunch of girls.
Lots of hugs and kisses to a baby dressed as a kitty
One beautiful moth (which is a lot coming from me who is terrified of moths) doesn't it look like it is made of giraffe fir?
We had so much fun, we want to head back up in the fall and maybe in the winter too, Cache says they have great sledding hills.

Blessing Day

We blessed Meadow on her 2 month birthday. It was such a special day, the spirit was strong and everything went perfect.
As an added bonus the food was so good.
We made homemade Cafe Rio style salads, they were so yummy. I wish we would have made twice as much meat though because we ran out near the end of the food line.

After everyone left we decided to go up to Silver Lake for a walk around the lake.
It was so beautiful, but once the sun went behind the mountain it got a little Chilly and the mosquito's came out in bundles.
Peanut ended up stealing Meadow's blanket and we had a baby with purplish arms and legs-poor thing. Next time we will head up a little earlier in the evening.
For memory sake, those in the blessing circle were:
-Daddy
-Grandpa M
-Grandpa C
-Uncle Steve
-Uncle Loggins
-Uncle Matt
-Uncle Matthew
-Than
-Bishop Tillman
-Dave Winnie
-Chris Howells

smiley-8 weeks.

Yay! We finally got a smile out of Meadow. She is growing so fast and she is my easiest baby. I loved my other two just as much, but I am really excited that Meadow takes a bottle, a binkie, and sleeps 7-9 hours at night, some things that my other two did not do. Heavenly Father must know that I am starting to loose it and gave me an easy little spirit for me to mother.

Thanks Diane for the beautiful quilt Meadow is laying on. I LOVE it.

Poor Peanut

Remember my post from last week when Finley smashed his head into the trampoline bar? I wrote that it was good that it wasn't Peanut because they would have had to sedate her. Well, poor little Peanut had her own accident exactly one week after Finley's, but Peanut wasn't as lucky to just get some super glue.

Peanut was attacked by my Uncle's German Shepherd. She was pretty brave getting her 9 stitches, there were just a few glass shattering screams until everything was numbed up. The good thing is is that they didn't have to sedate her :) I feel so bad for her though, it broke my heart to see her laying on the exam table with total fear in her eyes. I hate seeing that she is terrified of visiting my mom's house, who lives next door to my uncle, I hate seeing that she runs from the car into the house and won't even play outside. Most of all I HATE that dog (sorry Boyd). Does anyone have some advice on helping her get over her fear?

July 3rd

Husband and I decided we wanted a fun Holiday to remember this year, so packed it full of fun activities. On Friday we went to Cache's parents cabin. We love it up there and the weather was so perfect. The kids played ALL day and they were so dirty when we got home. The mud fight contributed to most of the dirtiness.

Trampoline

Mister Finley was jumping on the trampoline yesterday with Peanut and his cousin, he got bounced a little too high and lost control and decided to give the springs a kiss which resulted in a gashed head. The poor kid was bleeding profusely. I tried to keep my calm, but when I saw my 4 year old bleeding so bad that is was covering his entire face and filling up his ear lobes and eye sockets I just about lost it. I rushed him in the house grabbed a towel, applied pressure, and asked my mom to watch Peanut and Meadow while I took him to the E.R. On the way down the road I called Cache who told me to calm down and stop the bleeding and take him to my brothers office instead of the E.R. A few breath's later I realized that that was a better plan.

We got to the office an hour later where my brother decided that a little super glue would do the trick. Finley was so brave, I was surprised, if it was Peanut in this situation we would have had to sedate her. Oh, speaking of Peanut when she saw the blood, she screamed and started crying. After I told her that he was going to be okay she said "I just Love him" while sobbing. She just thought "this would never happen in our family". hahaha I love her, she is so sweet, but I am not kidding about the sedation, she has had a thorn in her foot for a week and can barely walk on it, but will not let anyone touch it or even look at it.

I am rambling, but as Finley's Prize for being so brave he decided he wanted Trans Former Sheets, not a Trans Former toy, but sheets. He slept on them so peacefully last night.
This picture makes the cut look like not a big deal, and it wasn't too bad, but head wounds always bleed so bad which make them look worse than they really are-I knew this, but all my medical training hides in the back of my head when stuff like this happens. well, thank goodness for super glue it saved Finley a few stitches.

I am trying to get enough gusto to blog about our 4th of July weekend, we had tons of fun, so hopefully a few posts will be up soon.

Afer the Rain......

come the blessings.
This was a rainbow that was right outside our front porch. It was the prettiest rainbow I have ever seen.
