Knock, Knock...........

No, I do not have two girls. Yes, the "girl" in the flower dress is a boy.
Yes, someday Fin will kill me for posting this and yes, Cache will probablly beat him to it,
but oh well I had to do it. Ignore the dress and look at how cute these two are.
( mommy goggles are handed out at the door )

How many of you moms out there (not just moms-but dads, aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings) have ever heard these words all. day. long?

Here is how my day sounds:

7 am
peanuthead: Knock-knock?
Me: who's there?
Peanuthead: Hair
Me: Hair who?
Peanuthead: hair, you need to get your hair done (ya, it doesn't make sense to me either, except for the fact that I really do need to get my hair done.)
uncontrollable laughter from Peanut head.

9 am
Fin: knock, knock?
me: who's there?
Fin: knock, Knock?
Me: who's there?
silence because fin can't think of anything else to say, and then uncontrollable laughter.

12 pm
Peanuthead: knock, knock?
Me: who's there?
Peanuthead: banana
Me: banana who?
Peanuthead: knock, knock?
Me: who's there?
Peanuthead: banana
I
will
skip the next few lines
because I am sure
you know this one
Peanuthead: Orange you glad I didn't say Banana?
uncontrollable laughter from Peanuthead.

3pm
(repeat of 9am)

5pm
(repeat of 7am)

How do you handle the incessant knock, knock jokes?? everytime I hear "knock, knock" I cringe.
BUT, I do love the satisfaction they receive by thinking that they made a funny and I do love the laughter that follows, therefore I don't give-in to my first instinct, which is to put them in "time-out" whenever I hear "knock-knock?" .

Oh my, I have those kinds of days constantly. Only my little boy only has the one Knock Knock joke. And it goes like this:

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana who?

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Banana.
Banana Who?

Knock Knock
Who's there?
Orange.
Orange who?
Aren't you glad I didn't say banana?

So cute, and so missing the joke!

Sending stamina your way!

Oh my goodness, that picture is a classic!

Luckily my kid doesn't go to preschool yet and doesn't have any older siblings, so hasn't discovered the amazing knock knock joke yet. Can't wait.

My little brother, now 13, used to do those alllllllll the time. His favorite was the interrupting cow one. So I do not have kids experience, but I do have sibling experience (which one is worse, who knows? haha) Either way, I feel for you!
BTW your blog changes have all been cute so far. Looks like you are working hard :)

Cashe is still gone isn't he? Ha! Grandma used to dress up our dads in dresses too! It's in our blood! Your blog looks great! Can I copy you??

Very cute. While I do not have any kids, and my nieces and nephews have not pulled this on me yet; being the sunbeam leader of eleven kids, I got A LOT of it. The hard thing was was that I couldn't send them to time out. It was actually probably one of the most challenging things. Once one "knock knocked" they all "knock knocked."
And I LOVE that pic.
